Andrew Kerr

Ph.D., Postdoctoral Researcher

Background: Andrew Kerr obtained an M. Sc. degree in chemistry from the University of York in 2014 and completed his PhD in polymer chemistry in 2019 at University of Warwick. His doctoral thesis focused on the synthesis of bottle-brush polymer architectures with RAFT polymerization techniques. He continued as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Helsinki (2021–2025) and started as a postdoc in the MMD group in April 2025.
Research area: Background in polymer chemistry and synthesis. Current research focuses on organic radical polymers for batteries and the design of thermo-responsive films.

Richard Jerome

MBA, Commercial Lead (GreenSense Project)

Background: Richard is a Commercial Leader with over 20 years’ experience and proven track record in business development, founding and scaling ventures across diverse industries. He has a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University and an MBA from INSEAD.
He started his career as an IT Architect at Tata Consultancy Services, building and advising solutions for Fortune 500 companies globally. In the process, he helped start and build a consultancy practice within the company dedicated to developing IT Strategies for large enterprises. Post his MBA, he spent about 8 years at Nokia in Finland, leading their channel development strategy globally, helping grow sales through a multi-channel approach and saving up to EUR 100 Mn, in 3 years through channel simplification. Eventually, he built and led an innovative consumer research business in Finland, combining mobile technology, crowdsourcing and expert services. The company was awarded the best of 130 other startups in the Nordics by the Nordic Angel Investors at SLUSH 2019 (the premium startup event globally).
As an entrepreneur and business developer with a curiosity of emerging technological trends and their impact on society, Richard takes a keen interest in identifying business opportunities for solutions that are meaningful and solve real life problems.
Professional area: Commercial model for the GreenSense project
Hobbies: In his free time, Richard enjoys cooking, playing Padel with friends, skiing with his family during winter and spending time at the countryside during summer.
