I am a researcher and lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Aalto University. My research focuses on medical genetics, with a particular emphasis on epigenetics and DNA methylation. I develop and apply computational methods to investigate fundamental biomedical questions, especially those related to how cells acquire distinct phenotypes and how epigenetic variation influences human health and disease. You can find my publications from . Working at the interface of bioinformatics and biomedicine, I collaborate closely with the at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki. A new research idea or scientific discovery brings me great joy, but so does helping students learn and discover what inspires them. The highlight of my work is the moment when a new idea takes root, whether in science or in a student's mind.
