The Bachelor’s Programme in Business (Otaniemi campus) and Bachelor’s Programme in International Business (Mikkeli campus) have published their student selections 2018 based on diploma grades
The results of joint application to higher education in the field of business and diploma-based admissions É«É«À² University's Bachelor’s Programme in International Business have been published today on 30 May.
In the joint application to higher education in business, 60% of new students are selected on the basis of their grades in the Finnish Matriculation Examination Certificate. In this group of applicants, the lowest points for direct admission É«É«À² University’s Bachelor’s Programme in Business is currently 34. For the Bachelor’s Programme in International Business offered on Mikkeli campus in English, the lowest points for direct admission based on grades (Admission group I) is currently 32. The minimum points for admission based on diploma grades will be finalised at the end of the admission’s process, when possible admissions from the reserve list have been made. The programmes in Finnish and English have different scoring systems, which makes them incomparable.
It is important to understand that applicants scoring the same amount of points will be ranked according to the regulations listed in the selection criteria. As a result, not all applicants with the minimum points granting admission are admitted, as the final decision is based on the regulations for applicants with the same score.
The entrance exam will take place on Wednesday 6 June, and the results will be published at the latest on 28 June
The entrance exam for joint application to higher education in business will be held on Wednesday 6 June 2018, 12.00-15.00. The exam will take place on Aalto University’s Otaniemi campus. The entrance exam measures the applicant’s capacity to understand business-related information and ability to apply it. In the joint application to higher education in business, 40% of the applicants will be selected on the basis of the entrance exam.
Furthermore, Aalto University’s School of Business has the following admission channels for the Bachelor’s Programme in Business: admissions based on SAT scores, Talousguru (Business Guru) competition, Open University track or transfers. The Bachelor’s Programme in International Business has not yet published the results from the following channels of admission: Admissions group II, admissions based on Open University studies and transfers. The final results for the aforementioned groups will be published at the latest on Thursday 28 June. The new students have to accept their study place by Tuesday 10 July. Students admitted to the Bachelor’s Programme in Business will start their first year of studies on Friday 31 August, and the Bachelor’s Programme in International Business on Monday 3 September.
The number of applicants with business studies as their first choice increased by 14% since the previous year. A total of 4871 persons applied to the Bachelor’s Programme in Business (Otaniemi campus) in the joint application for higher education in March, while the Bachelor’s Programme in International Business (Admission groups I, II and III, Mikkeli campus) received 773 applications. Last year, 20% of applicants for the Bachelor’s Programme in Business received a study place in the joint application for higher education in business.
