Aalto University and Bocconi University to launch a double degree programme in strategic and creative marketing
Aalto University and Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) are joining forces to launch the new Double Degree in Strategic and Creative Marketing, a two-year programme that will enable students to earn two master鈥檚 degrees while benefiting from the complementary strengths of two of Europe鈥檚 leading business schools.
The first cohort will begin in autumn 2027, with application period being in May 2027. Ten students will be admitted through Aalto for the inaugural cohort. Only students majoring in Marketing in the School of Business's bachelor鈥檚 program may apply to this program.
Students will be selected based on GPA, a motivation letter and an application video demonstrating commitment to the international double-degree experience.
鈥楾he programme follows a tight two-year schedule tailored for double-degree students, so strong motivation and readiness to commit are essential. Students admitted through Aalto spend their first year at Aalto and second year at Bocconi, while students admitted through Bocconi follow the reverse path,鈥 Assistant Professor Anastasia Nanni says.
Designed as a 120-ECTS programme, the curriculum integrates academic foundations in consumer behavior, branding and marketing strategy with data-driven, practical skills geared toward careers in international companies, consultancies and agencies. The programme is taught in English and includes a marketing capstone, a 20-ECTS Master鈥檚 thesis, an internship and an Italian language course.
The richness of two different academic environments and cultures
The programme is led by Assistant Professor Anastasia Nanni at Aalto and Professor Giovanna Padula at Bocconi. The initiative was spearheaded by Anastasia, who has deep ties to Bocconi, where she earned her bachelor鈥檚, master鈥檚 and PhD degrees.
According to the programme lead, the partnership grew from recognising complementary strengths: Aalto鈥檚 creative, technology-driven approach complements Bocconi鈥檚 expertise in strategy and analytics, giving students exposure to two academic environments, business cultures and alumni networks.
鈥楤y creating the double degree, students can benefit from both universities鈥 strengths and receive 鈥渢ools for life鈥, not just content. Differences in rules and teaching styles are seen as a long-term strength that fosters growth. The setting adds to the attraction: Milan offers a vibrant, fast-paced and international environment, while the Helsinki metropolitan area combines a clean, efficient urban environment with immediate access to beautiful nature and world-class public services,鈥 Anastasia Nanni says.
As final message to prospective students, Anastasia Nanni notes that for aspiring marketers seeking two degrees, two cities and one international future, the Aalto 脳 Bocconi Double Degree offers a rare blend of creativity, strategy and real-world impact, designed to provide both academic excellence and lifelong tools for global careers. Are you interested, and ready, to take on the challenge of persuing a double-degree programme in marketing?
