Textile Chemistry Group Visits Valmet Fiber Technology Center for TexirC Project Meeting

August 18, 2025 – The Textile Chemistry research group participated in the TexirC project meeting hosted at Valmet’s Fiber Technology Center, bringing together partners to review progress and exchange results.
The day began with an introduction by Valmet, showcasing the company’s advanced facilities and infrastructure that support innovation in fiber technologies. Participants were then invited to a joint lunch, setting the stage for collaborative discussions.
The results meeting opened with a presentation of instructions for all project partners. Each work package team subsequently shared updates on their progress. The meeting was chaired by Heli Kangas (Valmet), while Mattia Cerri (Aalto University) served as secretary.
Among the highlights of the session was the presentation by Professor Ali Tehrani, Head of Textile Chemistry, who shared results from Work Package 2 (WP2): Color Stripping of Textile Waste. His talk addressed key advances in sustainable textile processing, a central focus of the TexirC initiative.
The gathering marked another step forward in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry in developing circular solutions for the textile sector.

Annual meeting of textile chemistry group held

August 8, 2025 – The Textile Chemistry Group convened its Annual Meeting on Friday, August 8, bringing together researchers, doctoral candidates, master’s students, and interns to share their latest work in advancing sustainable textile technologies. The meeting was inaugurated and chaired by Professor Ali Tehrani, Head of the Textile Chemistry Group, who welcomed all members and emphasized the importance of collaborative research in shaping the future of the textile industry.
