Professor Iiro Harjunkoski has been appointed as Deputy Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Metallurgy

Professor Iiro Harjunkoski has been appointed as Deputy Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Metallurgy for the period 1 September 2025 to 31 December 2026.

Professor Iiro Harjunkoski has been appointed as Deputy Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Metallurgy for the period 1 September 2025 to 31 December 2026, as Professor Daniel Lindberg is moving on to new duties.

Harjunkoski received his doctorate from Ã…bo Akademi University in 1997. After his defense, he has worked as a researcher at Ã…bo Akademi, Carnegie Mellon University, USA and ABB Corporate Research in Ladenburg, Germany. He has also previously worked as Research Fellow at Hitachi Energy Research Mannheim, Germany and as Adjunct Professor at Aalto University.

"I wish Iiro every success in his new role and give my warmest thanks to Daniel for his excellent work as Professor and Deputy Head of the Department", says Kristiina Kruus, the Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering.
