This course is intended for graduate students in master's programs who are not yet in the process of writing their master's theses, or who are in the early stages of writing. It introduces written and oral communication principles and strategies applicable for academic and research purposes.
Are you an ARTS master's student who has just started to write your thesis? Then join LCA-1022 Academic writing. Please note that you have to have at least 2-3 pages of thesis text ready to join this course.

Finnish
Finnish language courses are in full swing, and many of the courses that started in the first period are continuing in the second period. The Finnish courses starting in the second period are already quite full, but there is still room in the Survival Finnish Online self-study course. Please check the course details on Sisu for more information. Registration closes on 14.10.
LC-7003 Survival Finnish Online (1 cr) is a self-study course that teaches you the basics of Finnish. You will learn relevant language situations related to everyday life and studies. The course is meant for students who have never studied Finnish before.
Don't worry if you can't join the course you want in the second period - several Finnish courses start again in the third period, and there are many options especially for Finnish 1 at different times. Keep an eye out for 9 December when the registration for the courses starts.

The capacity to communicate and work effectively and appropriately together with people from different backgrounds is increasingly seen as a vital core competence for graduates.
This course will enable you to establish relevant knowledge and communication skills to work effectively in Global Virtual Teams (GVTs). You will be working in small teams with students from different Unite! universities to complete the coursework. This will give you exciting learning opportunities to link the course materials with authentic teamwork experiences.

If you have Finnish as your mother tongue/school education language you can start by taking an entry-level test to identify the right course and study method for you.
You can find the test in MyCourses by using search words "ruotsin lähtötasotesti + ENG, CHEM, ELEC, SCI, ARTS tai BIZ" depending on your field of study.
You can only take the test once, so please take your time and do the test carefully and thoughtfully from start to finish.
Please note that the teachers that are responsible for courses and exams will check the accuracy of your test score in MyCourses before confirming registrations. Therefore, to save resources, please be honest when registering in Sisu about your score on the entry level test.
