Teaching

The mission of the Language Centre is to provide all University degree students with the communication and language studies indicated in the degree regulations of the various fields. Our goal is to provide all students with a strong foundation in language and communication skills for success in both studies and professional life.
Languages, culture and communication courses in period V

For international students we offer teaching in

  • English from an advanced level (minimum B2)
  • Finnish and Swedish from the beginners' level
  • Intercultural communication
  • Speech communication

Furthermore, international students can attend the more advanced courses in the languages where the language of teaching is marked as the target language in the course description. The course descriptions of the Language Centre follow the guidelines of the (CEFR) to indicate proficiency levels. For other proficiency levels, please consult the head teacher / coordinator of the language.

Please note that the practices of the School of Business vary in English courses and Finnish courses for native Finnish speakers.

Language and communications studies in  the degree

Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees require that students be proficient in the national languages of Finland and in at least one foreign language. As for elective studies, students are free to take any of the course subjects offered by the Language Centre. Instructions
