Aalto.fi revamp picking up pace – demo 9 May and blog started
The old content has been reviewed and much of it has been moved onto the new editing platform, Drupal. There, the content has been added as well as possible to fit the new site structure and to satisfy the user needs. The next step is to identify possible content gaps and fill them. The structure is based on hubs, which house the content in the following main categories: Study at Aalto, Research & Art, Collaboration, People, Aalto University, and Services. However, some of them are yet to be created due to specific timetable placing those for the autumn.
From demo towards beta
At the demo day you will be able to see all of the above firsthand! We'll also tell about the next steps in the project and what your role, as a content owner and/or an editor, is in them. The demo will be opened to all those with an Aalto ID. By Midsummer, all Aalto stakeholders, internal and external, will be able to start familiarising themselves with the new aalto.fi communications platform in the beta environment.
Between the demo and the beta, the project team will start collecting feedback from the aalto users. All editors will receive a personal email on the matter with a link to the query. Everyone else, with an Aalto ID, can take part in the query, as well, which will be explained in more detail in a piece of news pending publication on Inside soon after the 9th. There'll also be drop-in clinics organised for advise for the editors when we move towards the end goal. More on this later on Inside, as well.
Blog on how the story unfolds
There's a new blog for you to follow at where the project team posts around once a week telling how this story proceeds. Stay tuned!
