A! Walk-Art Tour to Didrichsen Art Museum
Led by , the tour to the Didrichsen Art Museum's Finnish Golden Age exhibition was taken back in time. The display featured iconic Finnish artists, offering a glimpse into how art mirrors our thoughts and life experiences.
Art is subjective; each viewer finds their own meaning in the paintings, free from right or wrong. The exhibition highlighted how art connects us across time. Long-gone artists communicated with viewers, sharing emotions and stories through their works.
Why is art important? It builds connections between the past and present and among viewers. It touches our inner worlds, making us feel less alone. As they explored the museum, each person saw different reflections in the art—proof of art's power to reach and resonate with everyone.
Our walk to the museum under the warm Finnish sun took 40 minutes across the island. Along the way, we saw wildflowers cascading like waterfalls, swans leisurely preening, and enjoyed chats with friends. This journey itself was a connection, a link between nature and us, and among people.
A! Walk
A! Walks is a summer course centered around walking-based learning, exploring Otaniemi campus and its surrounding urban–natural spaces. Rather than standalone lectures or experiments, the program is designed as a curated sequence of sensory, interdisciplinary walks, guiding participants toward experiences in coexistence, awareness, action, and futures. If successful, A! Walks may be continued during the regular semester.
