Sähkötekniikan korkeakoulun ohjesäännön mukaan koulutusneuvostolla on useita tehtäviä.

Sähkötekniikan korkeakoulun ohjesäännön mukaan koulutusneuvoston tehtävänä on:
- tehdä akateemiselle komitealle ehdotukset koulutusohjelmakohtaisista opetussuunnitelmista, tutkintovaatimuksista ja valintaperusteista;
- nimetä kandidaatintöiden hyväksyjät;
- päättää diplomitöiden aiheet, valvoja ja ohjaaja(t);
- arvostella diplomityöt;
- päättää koulutusohjelmien kehittämisestä, opetuksen laadunvarmistuksesta ja palautteen käsittelystä; ja
- käsitellä dekaanin sen tehtäväksi antamat tai tutkintosäännössä osoitetut muut asiat.
