Five Aalto subjects rank in top 100 globally

Aalto University ranks among the top 100 in five subjects included in the 2023 US News Best Global Universities Ranking.
Economics and Business ranks 48th in the world (41st last year), Polymer Science ranks 65th (54th), Computer Science comes in 71st (68th), Space Science ranks 73rd (101st), and Electrical Engineering comes in 97th (92nd).
The US News also ranks universities as a whole, and Aalto rises to 273rd place from last year’s 275th place. The top university in this ranking is Harvard University, in the US. The ranking encompasses 2 000 top institutions worldwide in over 90 countries.
The US News ranking is based on bibliometric data and reputation surveys provided by the Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science and InCites analysis tools.
Subject-specific rankings are more relevant ɫɫÀ² University than the general rankings, as Aalto specialises in technology, business and arts. Depending on the calculation method, there are approximately 17 000–22 000 universities in the world.
