Compassion mentoring for doctoral students - Sign up for this autumn's groups!

How can we bring more humanity in the midst of busyness and achievement-oriented culture? How can we meet each other in a genuine, caring and encouraging way, and strengthen this within our entire academic community? How can we also be kinder to ourselves?

Welcome to address these and many other compassion-related issues in the compassion mentoring peer groups for doctoral students!

The groups are peer groups for doctoral students, where we meet in a comfortable atmosphere and learn about the opportunities and challenges of compassion and self-compassion together. We are also strengthening our collective capacity for a compassionate attitude and action.

The activities of the groups include joint discussions on topics related to compassion as well as exercises related to compassionate interaction and self-compassion, among other things. At the same time, the group allows you to get to know other students interested in the subject. The groups are guided by Aalto’s doctoral students who have been trained to the task.

Each group meets six times during the autumn semester. The meeting times are the same every week. The groups are held in English and they start running in the beginning of October.

The group meeting times are:

  • Group 1: Mondays at 17-18.30
  • Group 2: Tuesdays at 10-11.30
  • Group 3: Thursdays at 14-15.30

Sign up through . Act fast – the groups will be filled on the first-come, first-served basis! The registration is open until 17 September.

Compassion mentoring really promoted my well-being and I believe anyone would benefit from joining a compassion mentoring group.
