We participate in the digital security exercise TAISTO21
Aalto University participates in Finland's largest digital security exercise on Thursday, 25 November 2021. TAISTO21 is a nationwide exercise, simulating data protection and security breaches that helps to develop information security management, leadership and communication in the event of a disruption.
New Aalto Inventions report released
The first version of analytics Inventions report is now opened for Aalto staff. The report enables statistical analysis for data-driven decisions related ɫɫÀ² inventions, as well as provide more detailed reporting for daily Innovation Services operations.

Information security and data protection training published in Workday Learning!
Information security and data protection learning area for Aalto Univeristy employees has been published on Workday Learning. The training covers the basics of information security and privacy, data processing and the identification of incidents.
IMAP and submission protocols will be closed 8 November
The use of IMAP and submission protocols will end on Monday, 8 November in Aalto university’s centralized email service. This improves information security, e.g. brute force attempts which block user accounts temporarily, will fail after the change.

Applications may be blocked in Windows computers
Due to configuration error, Windows computers may block running some apps. The fix has been released and has already been issued to almost all affected computers remotely.
ATLAS.ti users need to switch to version 9 as soon as possible
ATLAS.ti software version 9 is now available at Aalto University.

Aalto University is moving to cloud e-mail
The transition to cloud mail has progressed well. The mailboxes of Aalto's staff and degree students (in excess of 26,000 accounts) have been moved to the cloud.
Large number of Aalto IDs locked due to a denial of service attack
The bug is being fixed, and it seems  that the lockout would have ended at 4pm. Locked IDs open automatically after 15 minutes.
