Welcome to the tenth Aalto alumni strategy circle after-work event on the topic of Patents, intellectual property and competitive advantage. Join us if you are interested in best practices and examples of how patents and intellectual property can be utilized to achieve competitive advantage, and when they matter, how they matter, and when they don't. Hear and discuss the latest insights from academics and practitioners: Aija Leiponen, Professor of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University, Christian Langen, chairman of the board at Oxford Photovoltaics and executive-in-residence at Aalto University, and Lotta Väänänen, Vice President with Compass Lexecon.

She holds a PhD in economics from Helsinki School of Economics and has earlier worked at Etla, the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy.

Christian Langen is a serial entrepreneur and experienced executive. He is the chairman of the board at Oxford Photovoltaics and currently holds an executive-in-residence at Aalto University, where he co-teaches the Energy Linkage course. He is a graduate from the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany.

She has consulted clients on IPR-related issues related to competition and innovation.
