Rolling admission to the Master's Programme in Business Analytics
Admission schedule and intake
The application period for rolling admissions to the Master鈥檚 Programme in Business Analytics for studies starting in January 2026 begins 8 September and ends at the latest on 2 October 2025 (3 pm, UTC +3). Applications are processed only until all available places in the programme are filled.
Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, and only the first ten applicants who meet the programme criteria will be admitted. Application form will be closed before the final application deadline if all available study places are filled earlier.

Intake
A maximum of ten students may be admitted to the programme in the rolling admission for the January 2026 intake.
Programme admission criteria
To fulfil the programme鈥檚 admission criteria the application must include:
- a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study;
- a GMAT or GRE test result;
- an accepted proof of language proficiency; and
- all the required application documents
The bachelor's degree must be completed (you must have graduated) by the time of applying.
Only applications that fulfill all the admissions requirements (tai criteria, kumpaa termi盲 k盲ytet盲盲n sivuilla) can be accepted.
You must have completed a bachelor鈥檚 degree with the degree or major in one of the following subjects:
- Economics
- Mathematics
- Operations research
- Physics
- Business analytics
- Management science
- Finance
- Statistics
- Machine learning
- Artificial intelligence
- Computer science
- Mathematics and system science
The weighted GPA (grade point average) of the degree granting eligibility must be 3,50 or higher on the ECTS () scale. The ECTS scale is 0-5, with 1 as the first passing grade and 5 as the highest grade.
The bachelor's degree must:
- be complete (graduated) by the time of applying;
- be equivalent to 180 ECTS credits or three years of full-time study;
- give eligibility to apply for master鈥檚 degree studies at a university in the awarding country; and
- be awarded by a higher education institution recognised as part of the official national education system of the country, accredited as a degree-granting higher education institution by the country where it is located or by a relevant international organisation (such as UNESCO).
You cannot apply on the basis of a master's degree. Only bachelor鈥檚 degrees give eligibility for the programme.
Admitted students may be assigned supplementary studies.
Applicants who have completed a Finnish Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration) degree are not eligible to apply.
Please note! If you accept a study place in the rolling admissions process, you cannot apply in the general Aalto University admission process for master studies at the School of Business.
All applicants must submit an official Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Records Examination (GRE) test result. The test result must arrive at Aalto University directly from the testing organisation by the time the application is submitted.
The test result must meet the following minimum criteria:

GMAT Exam (10th Edition): Only the Total Score is considered in the admissions. The Total Score includes the Quantitative Section and the Verbal Section. The Analytical Writing Assessment and Integrated Reasoning sections do not affect the score.

GRE: The accepted exams are the GRE General Test and GRE Revised General Test. The GRE Subject Test is not accepted. The Verbal Reasoning Score and Quantitative Reasoning Score of the GRE test are taken into account. The Analytical Writing section has no bearing on admissions process.

GMAT Exam (10th Edition), GMAT Exam (Focus Edition) and GRE exams are equivalent in the admission, i.e. none of the tests is considered superior to the other.
The GMAT/GRE is not a language test and therefore cannot substitute for a language test.
Validity period of test scores
GMAT and GRE scores are valid for five years after the test day. The oldest acceptable test date is 8 September 2020.
Submitting test scores
The official test scores must be received by Aalto University directly from the testing organisation by the time you submit your application. If the official GMAT or GRE test results are not received by the time the application is received, the application will be rejected.
Take the test early enough to meet this deadline. Check from the test administrator the time required to deliver the official results. Test scores submitted by the applicant are unofficial and will not be accepted. Applicants are responsible to enrol for the test sufficiently well ahead of time.
If the GMAT or GRE test scores do not arrive by the time the application is submitted or the scores are below the minimum requirement, the application will be rejected.
GMAT Exam (10th Edition) and GMAT Exam (Focus Edition)
- The official test report must be sent directly by the test administrator to the Aalto University School of Business. The reports are sent by the test administrator electronically. At the test, you can choose the higher education institution to which your test scores are sent. Test scores must be sent with the Aalto University School of Business GMAT program code, C1N-9F-85 (MSc Degree Programs).
If you have taken the GMAT test earlier but not sent the scores 色色啦 University, request the test administrator to send your official scores with the School of Business program code.

GRE
- The official test report must be sent directly by the test administrator 色色啦 University. The test results are received electronically from the test administrator.
The GRE test reporting code for Aalto University is 7364.
If you have taken the test earlier but not sent the test scores 色色啦 University, request the test administrator to send an Additional Score Report 色色啦 University.

Please note that Aalto University does not organise the tests and cannot respond to any questions on test registrations or sending the test scores.
All applicants must to demonstrate proficiency in English. When necessary, you may have to pass a language test. The language test scores must meet the minimum requirements set by Aalto University. The test results must arrive at Aalto University directly from the testing organisation by the time the application is submitted.

IELTS Academic, TOEFL and PTE test results are valid for two years from the date of the test. The oldest accepted test date is 8 September 2023.
How to apply?
Submit your application as soon as possible during the application period.
The application consists of:
- an application form; and
- a set of required application documents
Fill in the online application form in the Studyinfo.fi system during the application period. The link to the application form will be updated to this webpage closer to the start of the application period.
Applications are processed in the order of arrival. Only compete applications are evaluated. See more information in the sections Programme admission criteria and Required application documents.
You must upload all application documents to your application form before submitting the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Read the application instructions, the eligibility and evaluation criteria and the list of required documents carefully.
- Prepare your application documents in advance. Obtain official translations (if required). For document instructions, see the application and the required application documents section below.
- Take the GMAT or GRE test well in advance and send your official scores 色色啦 University before you submit your application. For more information, see GMAT or GRE test results.

You can fill in the application form only during the application period, from 8 September at 9.00 to 2 October 2025 at 15.00/3pm (UTC +2). Please note that the application form may be closed before the final application deadline if all available study places are filled earlier. You may have only one application form; do not fill in several forms.

Please note that you cannot save your application form as a draft. You can only submit the application when you have filled in all required information and uploaded all required documents to the online application.
You must upload all required application documents to the application form before submitting it. You cannot upload documents after you have submitted your application form. The required application documents are listed in the section Required application documents.
Please note that during the application stage, electronic copies of your original documents are sufficient. If you are admitted to the programme, you will be required to submit officially certified (attested) copies of your educational documents by the given deadline.
The programme evaluates applications in the order of arrival.
An application is considered complete and received when it has been submitted in the Studyinfo system, all required documents have been received, and the application fee (if applicable) has been paid. Only complete applications with all required application documents and official test results are considered.

If you are required to pay an application fee, your application is considered to have been received when the application fee payment is received. Applications are not processed before the application fee has been paid. More information can be found in the section Tuition and application fees.
Applications are evaluated based on the admission criteria set by the programme. The applicants who meet the admission requirements will be accepted in the order they have submitted their complete application. More information on the evaluation criteria can be found in the section Programme admission criteria.
The number of study places is limited. A maximum of 10 new students are accepted to the programme for studies starting in January 2026. The first 10 applicants whose applications meet the eligibility criteria are admitted to the programme.
When the available study places have been filled, no more applications will be evaluated. The application form will be closed before the end of the application period if all available places are filled earlier.
Your admission result will be sent to you by email as soon as your application has been processed.
All admission results will be sent to applicants by 30 October 2025 at the latest.
If you are admitted, you must accept your offer of admission within one week (7 days) of the admission offer. Accepting (or declining) an offer of admission is binding and it cannot be changed afterwards.

Please note! If you accept a study place in the rolling admissions process, you cannot apply in the general Aalto University admission process for master studies at the School of Business.
The 鈥榦ne study place per term in higher education鈥 policy
If you apply in several admissions and are offered admission to more than one degree programme beginning in the same term, you may only accept one offer of admission at a university or university of applied sciences in Finland. The 鈥榦ne study place per term in higher education鈥 policy applies to all degree-granting higher education programmes, whether applying through: joint application procedures, separate admissions procedures, or applying to doctoral education (to earn a licentiate or doctoral degree).
If you are offered admission to more than one degree programmes in different admissions, you may only accept one admission offer for studies starting in January 2026. You cannot cancel the acceptance of a study place.
You are required to submit officially certified (attested) copies of your educational documents by 4 December 2025 if you are admitted to the programme. If you are required to submit certified (attested) documents, it is written in your admission letter. More information on submitting certified copies of your documents can be found in the section Instructions for documents.
The documents must be received by the deadline. The deadline cannot be extended.
You are conditionally admitted until the certified documents have been received. If the certified documents are not received in the required manner by the given deadline, your conditional study right will be cancelled.
We strongly recommend submitting the certified documents as soon as you receive your admission offer to make sure the documents are received by the deadline.
Certified documents will be compared to the electronic application documents that have been uploaded to the application system.
Required application documents
The application consists of an application form, obligatory application documents and required test results.
You must upload all required application documents to the online application form before submitting it. If an obligatory application document is missing from your application, your application will be rejected as incomplete. Prepare your application documents before you start filling the online application.
Carefully scan the original documents and save the files in colour PDF format.
Scan the documents in the correct orientation so that a horizontal document is displayed horizontally, and a vertical document is displayed vertically. Name the files as instructed (e.g. Transcript-lastname-firstname).
Upload each document separately to the correct attachment section on your application form.
- Scanned colour copy of the original Bachelor鈥檚 degree certificate (in PDF format). Name the file according to format: Degree-certificate-lastname-firstname.
- Scanned colour copy of the original official transcript of study records of the Bachelor's degree (in PDF format).
Name the file according to format: Transcript-lastname-firstname. - If your degree certificate and the official transcript of records are not in English, Finnish or Swedish scanned colour copies of authorised translations (in PDF format). The instructions for official translations are below (see "Instructions for documents" and "Translations").
Name the file according to format: Translation-transcript-lastname. - If your previous studies were completed in a university using another credit and grading scale than the ECTS: an informal description regarding the credit and grading scale of previous studies.
Name the file according to format: Credits-and-grading-lastname-firstname.

- Official GMAT or GRE test score report. The official test scores must be received by Aalto University directly from the testing organisation. GMAT program code is "C1N-9F-85 (MSc Degree Programs)". The GRE test reporting code for Aalto University is "7364".

- Proof of language proficiency in English. The official test scores must be received by Aalto University directly from the testing organisation.
More information on the language requirements can be found in the section Language proficiency. Language test scores must be submitted 色色啦 University as instructed on the webpage.
- Copy of a valid passport or an official government-issued identification card with photo, that includes information on citizenship (in PDF format). Upload a copy of the personal information page of the passport only (not all pages).
Name the file according to format: Passport-lastname-firstname.
Further instructions on passport or ID card are below in Instructions for documents. - If you are exempted from tuition fees based on your residence permit, submit scanned copies of both the front and back sides of your residence permit card in Finland. See the residence permit types that exempt from tuition fees at Scholarships and Tuition Fees page. The fee-exempting residence permit must be valid at the beginning of the study right i.e., 1 January 2026.
Name the file according to format: Residence-permit-lastname-firstname.
Instructions for documents
The degree certificate must include the name of the student, the name of the degree, the name of the institution awarding the degree, and the date the degree was awarded.
Provisional degree certificate
In the case there is delay before the final degree certificate is issued to graduates, provisional degree certificate can be accepted. Provisional (or temporary) degree certificate can be issued to a student who has graduated by successfully completing all the studies included in the degree. The provisional degree certificate must include same information than the degree certificate would, that is the name of the student, the name of the degree, the name of the institution awarding the degree, and the date the degree was awarded. A statement of completion of the studies is insufficient.
Transcript of records must be official. The transcript of records must include the individual courses you have taken, the grades and credits awarded, and the date of completion. Original transcripts are generally easy to obtain from student service department of your home institution. The transcript of records must be uploaded to your application form in PDF format.
If your transcript of records does not include the grades for each course, submit an official document issued by your university that lists your grades for each course. If your institution does not award grades for courses, submit an official document issued by your university that explains the evaluation system.
If your degree contains studies completed in some other higher education institution (e.g. transfer studies), the required information must be submitted also of those studies (individual courses, grades, credits, date of completion of courses). If this information is not in your transcript of records, submit a transcript of records issued by the institution where the studies were taken at.
This requirement applies to top-up -degrees as well. You must submit transcripts of records including the required information for the whole duration of all studies that your top-up -degree is based on. Studies must be equivalent to 180 ECTS credits or three years of full-time study.
A diploma supplement cannot be submitted instead of a degree certificate. A degree certificate is required.
A diploma supplement in English can be submitted as a translation of a degree certificate, if it contains the name of the student, the name of the degree, the name of the institution awarding the degree, and the date the degree was awarded.
You can also submit a diploma supplement instead of a transcript of records if it contains the information required of a transcript of records (individual courses, grades, credits and the date of completion of courses).

The documents must be in Finnish, Swedish or English. If the original degree certificate or transcript of records was written in another language, you must submit an official translation of the document in addition to a scanned copy of the original document.
The translation is official if it has been done by the higher education institution that awarded the degree or by a certified translator (authorised translator). The translations must have the certified translator鈥檚 stamp and signature.
The Finnish National Agency for Education (www.oph.fi/en) maintains a of authorised translators who are based in Finland.
A Diploma supplement in English can be submitted instead of a translation of a degree certificate, if it contains the name of the degree, the name of the institution awarding the degree, the date of awarding the degree, and the name of the student. For more information, please see above (Diploma supplement).
A copy of a valid passport or an official government-issued identification card with photo that includes information on citizenship is an obligatory application document.
Driver鈥檚 license does not have information on citizenship and is therefore not accepted.
If passport or identification card has expired
If you do not have a Finnish personal identity code, a valid passport or an official government-issued identification card is required.
If you have a Finnish personal identity code, but do not have a valid passport/ID card, you can upload a copy of an expired passport/ID card or driver鈥檚 license to your application form. Your information can be checked from the Finnish Population Register with your Finnish personal ID number.
If name details are different in study documents and passport
If your name has changed after your studies and your name in the passport does not match your study documents, an official proof of name change is required. Submit a copy of an official document of your name change issued by a governing body. This can be, for example, a marriage certificate if your family name has changed in marriage.
If you have a Finnish personal identity code, it is sufficient to have the same code on the study documents and your passport. If your personal identity code has changed or it does not show for example on your transcript of study records, you need to submit a copy of an official document of your name change issued by a governing body.
If official identification card is issued in a language other than English, Finnish or Swedish
If your official identification card is issued in a language other than English, Finnish or Swedish, you must submit a translation of the document. You can translate the document yourself. The translation must be accurate.
Admitted applicants must submit certified (attested) educational documents by 4 Dec 2025 at 15.00/3pm (UTC +2).
The best way to submit certified educational documents is to submit the documents trough an accepted electronic credential service, submit electronically verifiable documents or ask your institution to send your official documents via email. If you are unable to submit the certified documents in an electronic form, you may also submit officially certified physical hard copies via a courier service.
Please check our instructions for the accepted ways to submit certified documents. Please note that the deadlines on the page are only relevant for the general master's admission process. For rolling admission process, the certified documents must be received by 4 Dec 2025 at 15.00/3pm (UTC +2) at the latest.
We strongly recommend submitting the certified documents as soon as you receive your admission offer to make sure the documents are received by the deadline.
Admission is conditional until the certified documents have been received. Conditional study right will be cancelled if the certified documents are not delivered according to our document requirements by the deadline.
The certified documents will be compared to the electronic documents uploaded to the application system.
Tuition and application fees
In Finland, tuition and application fees are collected from students who are not citizens of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) member states or Switzerland. Some residence permits issued by the Finnish Immigration Service may also exempt you from paying tuition and application fees.
Applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies.
The application fee is 100 euros.
The application fee does not guarantee that you will be offered admission to studies.
If you are required to pay an application fee, the application is considered to have arrived only when the application fee payment has been received. Fee-liable applications are not processed before the application fee has been paid.
Who needs to pay an application fee?
Most non-EU/EEA citizens are required to pay an application fee to apply for master鈥檚 degree studies at Aalto University.
Citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are not required to pay an application fee. Some residence permits issued by the Finnish Immigration Service may exempt you from paying the application fee.

Please note! Read the instructions carefully and be careful when answering the question on tuition and application fee liability on the application form. If the information on the application form is incorrect it may delay the processing of your application. If your application is later determined to be liable for application fees, the application is only considered to have arrived once the required application fee has been paid.

Tuition fee in the Master鈥檚 programme in Business Analytics is 鈧15 000 per academic year.
The normative duration of master's degree studies is two academic years.
Aalto University does not offer scholarships for students selected in the rolling admission process to the Master鈥檚 Programme in Business Analytics.
Who needs to pay tuition fees?
Most non-EU/EEA citizens are required to pay tuition fees.
Citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are not required to pay tuition fees. Some residence permits issued by the Finnish Immigration Service exempt you from paying tuition fees.
