Applying to the WiT Programme
The admission to the 3.5-month professional WiT Programme at Aalto University is organised once a year. In 2025, the WiT Programme is running from September to mid-December.
Who can apply?
You are eligible to apply to the WiT Programme if you have the following:
- ²¹â€¯master’s degree
- ²¹â€¯proof of language proficiency (·¡²Ô²µ±ô¾±²õ³ó)
- a motivation to develop the skills and competencies required for work in global development

How to apply?
The call for applications for the 2025 edition of the WiT Programme is now open! Apply to the programme by filling in the application form and sending the required documents by June 15th, 2025, at 23.59 UTC+3.

We may accept applications after the final deadline if vacancies arise. If you are interested and have missed the deadline, you may inquire about such vacancies.
Your application should include the following documents:
- Copy of degree certificates
- Transcript of study records
- Translations of both your degree certificate and transcript of records (if the originals are not in English, Finnish or Swedish)
- Proof of English language proficiency
- Extended CV and optional career portfolio
- Motivation letter
Application evaluation criteria
In addition to the certificates and the transcript of study records, you should send an extended CV and a motivation letter. These two documents carry the most weight in the selection process. Alternatively, to an extended CV, you can also submit a career portfolio with a condensed version of a CV. A motivation letter is mandatory in either case.
The extended CV or career portfolio should showcase your education, work experience, language skills, and IT skills, as well as highlight your past experiences, projects you have been involved in, your role(s) and the team(s) you worked with, your impact and achievements, and your overall development path. The career portfolio can include visuals, text, and/or multimedia materials.
The motivation letter should describe your interests and goals for personal and career development and explain why we should select you for this programme.
Tuition fees
The programme is free of charge for those with a degree study right in one of the Aalto Doctoral Programmes.
For those without a degree study right, the tuition fee is 15 € per ECTS, which totals 360 € for the entire programme (24 ECTS). Accordingly, completing 12 ECTS totals 180 €.
