The Test-Site Solar System, Lecture & Workshop project is designing and building a circular solar panel system in collaboration with Biosphere Solar, a startup dedicated to recyclable, fair-manufactured modules. The initiative features a public lecture on circular solar energy systems followed by an open, hands-on installation workshop on the Test-Site A-frame that enables a solar-powered Test-Site Opening Party on the last week of May.
Test-Site will become self-sufficient in energy production, as the A-frame was originally designed to have a solar system. The installed panels will power the Crust website and support the ongoing development and everyday activities at Test-Site. Future uses of the electricity may include a watering irrigation system, electric tools for building, co-working in the A-frame with access to power outlets, and leisure activities such as making a pot of tea or lighting the space in the evenings with string lights.
