Her doctoral research focuses on decoloniality and anti-imperialism in digital fashion, particularly exploring the data-driven domains of platformized fashion and surveillance fashion. She engages with both academic and public discourse on digital fashion through the lenses of inclusion, intersectionality, and resistance. Ushnah problematizes underexplored areas at the intersections of fashion, politics, and data, aiming to cultivate long-term, decolonial, and subversive fashion interventions for the future.
