
Seongtae Kim
Seongtae (Seo) Kim is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management at Aalto University School of Business. Prior to joining Aalto in 2019, Seo was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Chair of Logistics Management at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Switzerland. He obtained his PhD (2013-2016) in Supply Chain Management from the University of Hull’s Logistics Institute, United Kingdom.
His research interests include supply chain sustainability, risks and disruptions in global supply chains, complex supply networks, and the digital transformation of supply chains, with a focus on interconnections among these areas. His work has appeared in Decision Sciences, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Supply Chain Management, among others.
Seo serves as an associate editor for International Journal of Operations and Production Management and as an editorial board member for other leading journals, including Decision Sciences and Journal of Supply Chain Management. For his contributions, he has received several Best Reviewer Awards from journals and conferences. He is currently the principal investigator of a four-year (2023-2027) research project funded by the Academy of Finland, focusing on supply chain restructuring amid mega disruptions.
