My research focuses on the designer-maker and the cultivation of knowledge through the physical process of making, as well as the role of material entanglements in reimagining the design process. Fundamental to my work is the visuality of making: specifically, how the investigation of forces and materials in unseen space—facilitated by craft-based practices—can foster interdisciplinary research and provide novel perspectives on design thinking and methodologies. Accordingly, I work in the field, laboratory, and workshop, pursuing methods and techniques that embrace both the commonalities and differences inherent in diverse research contexts.
