Guy B. Marin is professor in Chemical Reaction Engineering and founding member of the Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) and the Center of Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) at Ghent University. He co-founded the spinoff AVGI in 2015.The investigation of chemical kinetics, aimed at the modeling and design of chemical processes and products all the way from molecular up to industrial scale, constitutes the core of his research. He co-authored two books, 鈥淜inetics of Chemical Reactions: Decoding Complexity鈥 with G. Yablonsky and D. Constales (Wiley-VCH, 2nd edition 2019) and 鈥淎dvanced Data Analysis and Modelling in Chemical Engineering鈥, as well as more than 600 papers in high impact journals and is co-inventor in 4 filed patents. He is co-editor of the 鈥淐hemical Engineering Journal鈥 and member of the editorial boards of 鈥淚ndustrial & Engineering Chemistry Research鈥, 鈥淐urrent Opinion in Chemical Engineering鈥 and the 鈥淐anadian Journal of Chemical Engineering鈥. He is member of several International Scientific Advisory Boards and 鈥淢aster鈥 of the 111 project of the Chinese Government for overseas collaborations in his field.
