Timo Vuori on shared understanding in organizations

DIEM professor publishes on theories on reflexion and reflection in shared cognition

DIEM assistant professor Timo Vuori's article in  Academy of Management Review contributes to theories on shared understanding in organizations by making a difference between conscious-analytical and intuitive-emotional shared understanding. It is possible for people to agree on one level, yet disagree on the other. Creating shared understanding only at the analytical level is often not sufficient for effective coordinated action. Behaviors that are influenced by disagreement at the intuitive level can undermine the success of good plans.
