The paper 鈥淭extile integrable mechanochromic strain sensor based on the interplay of supramolecular interactions鈥 has been accepted for publication in Materials & Design (Volume 212, 15 December 2021).

鈥淭his work offers the opportunity to apply the strain sensor in humid environments to prevent the mechanical failures by showing a colour change in areas subjected to undesired stress. Moreover, dip-coating yarns with mechanochromic coating allows fabrication of functional yarns that change their colour based on their stretching state 鈥 thus enabling preparation of colour-changing stretchable textiles was demonstrated.鈥 (from the abstract)

The research work for the manuscript was conducted under the SUPER-WEAR project (Super-stretchable functionalized materials and fibers for third generation wearable technology) funded by the Academy of Finland and led by Prof. Jaana Vapaavuori. Katarzyna Wojdalska and Yujiao Dong contributed equally to this paper.
