Several Finnish Film awards ɫɫÀ² alumni

At this year's Jussi Gala for Finnish Film many alumni from the Department of Film, Television and Scenography as well as the Department of Design were awarded.

At this year's Jussi Gala, Aalto alumni were once again victorious!

The biggest winner with as many as seven Jussi statues was director Miia Tervo's and producer Max Malka's film Aurora. The film won Best Film, Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Female Lead, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Costume Design. Costume design for Aurora was created by Jouni Mervas, graduate of the degree program in Clothing Design and Costume Art.

Pietari Peltola was awarded Best Cinematography, Micke Nyström for Best Sound Design and Mervi Junkkonen for Best Editing for the movie Dogs Don't Wear Pants.

Aatos and Amine, chosen as the Best Documentary, was directed by Reetta Huhtanen produced by Hannu-Pekka Vitikainen.

Reetta Aalto, Kirsikka Saari, Jenni Toivoniemi, Miia Tervo and Alli Haapasalo were awarded the Nordisk Film Foundation Prize for their film Tottumiskysymys.

Congratulations to the winners!

The Nordisk Film Foundation Prize is awarded annually and is chosen by an independent jury of filmmakers. In 2020, the jury included producer Miia Haavisto (chairman of the jury), film director Aleksi Salmenperä, screenwriter Iiro Küttner, actor, director and screenwriter Peter Franzén, filmmaker Aarne Tapola and Filmiaura board member Manna Katajisto.
