Professor Antti Peltokorpi appointed vice dean for impact at the School of Engineering
Ilkka Niemelä, President of Aalto University, has appointed Professor Antti Peltokorpi as vice dean for impact at the School of Engineering for the term 1.8.2023 – 31.7.2028. Peltokorpi will replace as a vice dean Kari Tammi, who will begin as the dean of School of Engineering on 1.8.2023.
Peltokorpi will be a member of the Aalto University Impact Steering Group and the main link between the steering group and the school’s management team. He will also co-operate closely with the vice deans for education and research.
Peltokorpi has specialized in research into supply chains, production strategies and operations management, especially in construction. His special areas of expertise include modularity and industrial construction, productivity development, as well as digital innovations and systemic transformation in the real estate and construction sector. Among the research methods he is most familiar with quantitative analysis methods, modeling and case studies.
Antti Peltokorpi graduated as Master of Science (Technology) from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Helsinki University of Technology in 2005 and earned the degree of Doctor of Science (Technology) in 2010. Peltokorpi has worked as the director of the BIT Research Centre of the Aalto University Department of Industrial Engineering and Management since 2013. On 2015 Antti Peltokorpi was appointed Professor of Operations Management in Construction in Aalto University.
Peltokorpi has been the director of Building Technology Master’s programme and from 2023 onwards he has been working as the vice director of the programme.
