President Rousseff gets acquainted with Aalto University's educational expertise
Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff visited Aalto University today as part of a wider official visit focused on Finland. Education was a particular focus of interest for President Rousseff. The high-powered delegation included five Brazilian ministers, including the Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Celso Pansera.
A seminar on the topic of educational cooperation between different countries was held in the university premises. In addition to the Aalto University management and the representatives from Brazil, seminar participants included experts from the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Academy of Finland, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, CIMO, and the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation (Tekes). President Rousseff expressed her appreciation of the expertise of Aalto University, and of Finland in general, in the field of learning processes and practical teaching.
To round off her visit, the President met with startups at the Design Factory and Startup Sauna, and also with Aalto's Brazilian students.
In the Startup Sauna, Richard Makara introduces the throwable Catchbox microphone to the Brazilian President and the University's President.
