Presentation of professor: Samuel Kaski
In January, Samuel Kaski will start as an Academy Professor funded by the Academy of Finland at Aalto University.
Currently he is making plans for his new positions with his research group. He also leads the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Computational Inference Research COIN.
The rest of the fall semester of 2015 he will spend three months as a visiting researcher at Kyoto University.
- My research has always concentrated on machine learning. It is on the one hand computer science, in which goals are defined with the help of statistics, and on the other hand statistics, in which computation is centrally important.
