Millennium Technology Prize winner announced 22 May

Welcome to the prize winner's Millennium Talks open lecture on 23 May.

The world’s largest technology prize will be awarded in May for the eight time. The international, one-million-euro prize is awarded to a technological innovation that has had an extensive positive impact on people’s quality of life. The Millennium Technology Price is awarded by the Technology Academy Finland.

The Millennium Technology Prize will be announced in Helsinki at the Cable Factory on Tuesday, 22 May 2018. The award will be presented by the President of the Republic of Finland, Mr Sauli Niinistö.

The Millennium Technology Prize is awarded every second year. Academy Professor Päivi Törmä from Aalto University, Chair of the Millennium Technology Prize Selection Committee, stresses the importance of the international award for Finland.

'Finland is a human-oriented country of high technology. The technology prize aiming for global well-being reflects our values and strengths in a great way. The international prize highlights the idea that great global challenges must be resolved globally, together.'
