'We are especially interested in establishing networks with developers of business activities, service designers, and digital experts of the future. International cooperation at Aalto University gives us the possibility to develop our business activities in an increasingly international direction,' notes Raisa Jyrkinen, Director, Talent & Organizational Development at the K Group.

The partner programme of the School of Business offers companies a channel for cooperation with Aalto University. With their participation in the Partnership Programme, the company will get good visibility on the campus. The company will get to participate extensively in activities connected with teaching and recruitment for example. In addition, the programme gives the company easy direct access to experts at Aalto, such as researchers and professors.

'We want to utilise Aalto's skills and knowledge in the development of the strategic skills of people at the K Group and to bring the K Group new and innovative working methods. We hope that we can find forms of collaboration together with students, for instance that are interesting for the students and which also support our business activities,’ Jyrkinen says.

Toward broader collaboration

The K Group and the School of Business have long worked together in the field of research, among others, but now it is hoped that the collaboration might develop into something that is deeper and broader.

'We are aiming at long-term and close collaboration,' Raisa Jyrkinen emphasises. 'Aalto is an internationally recognized top university in its own fields, whose multidisciplinary selection of teaching and research corresponds well with our versatile business activities and their development needs. Aalto University, under the leadership of the School of Business, has long collaborated with businesses and we are convinced about the systematic nature of our corporate activities.'

'We are very happy to start partnership collaboration with the K Group and to make the skills and knowledge of the K Group available to our students and experts. The collaboration will undoubtedly prove fruitful and inspiring to both sides,' notes Jonna Söderholm, Head of External Relations at the School of Business.

Through the Partnership Programme companies get to engage in long-term collaboration with Aalto University in many different fields. Possible forms of collaboration include developing the company employer brand, contributing to teaching, carrying out research cooperation, for instance in connection with student projects, and acting as a visiting lecturer. A total of 14 companies are currently involved in the programme.
