On Monday 29 April, Aalto University prepared for May Day by celebrating the opening of a new lecture hall sponsored by School of Business Premium Partner Finavia. The event was attended by Aalto University alumni from Finavia and other Finavia personnel who shared information on the career opportunities at Finavia.

‘There was a nice energy at the event, and students asked some pretty tough questions – as they should! We partnered with the School of Business in January 2019, and our aim is to bring Finavia ɫɫÀ² students’ attention’, said Sari Karjalainen, HR Partner at Finavia.

Students care about responsibility

Students were interested in the work tasks available at Finavia and the educational backgrounds of Finavia personnel, but discussion topics also included carbon neutrality and responsibility.

In the opening event, students took a quiz to find out facts such as how many plastic bottles are required to manufacture 500 pieces of workwear made of renewable material. The main prize of the quiz was an airport tour for ten lucky winners.

Sponsored lecture halls are a way to support teaching and employer image

Having sponsored lecture halls is a long-standing tradition at the School of Business. At the moment, ten School of Business Premium Partners have a sponsored lecture hall in the Undergraduate Centre at Otakaari 1. In addition, there are teaching spaces named after foundations and funds in the new building of the School of Business at Ekonominaukio 1.

Sponsored lecture halls allow companies and communities to above all support students and education by influencing the quality and comfort of teaching facilities. At the same time, a sponsored lecture hall is a visible way to establish the employer image of a company among students.
