Why apply for alumni study rights?

  • You can study from ARTS's selected course offering — up to 30 credits per year
  • You can develop your professional skills or complete unfinished projects
  • You have an opportunity to deepen your knowledge before moving into full-time working life
  • You will have access to working life mentoring and Aalto's career services
  • You will have access to ARTS's facilities and equipment on the same terms as degree students
  • A pilot group of alumni students will be offered their own seminar: Becoming a Creative Professional

The alumni study rights will be piloted in the academic year 2025–2026.

You are entitled to the alumni study right if:

  • You graduated with a Master's degree from the School of Arts, Design and Architecture on 26 May 2025 or after
  • You completed your Master's degree in less than 4 years or your Bachelor's and Master's degrees in less than 7 years

You receive the study right for a maximum of two years, depending on how much of the study right granted for the degree was not used.
