Cornell University will be CEMS’ first academic member in the US

CEMS, the Global Alliance in Management Education, with 32 leading business schools and more than 70 corporate and social partners forms a unique educational alliance. In December, CEMS announced collaboration with Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, which will be the first business school in the US to join CEMS.

Together the leading business schools, multinational companies and NGOs offer the top-ranked, international and practice-oriented CEMS Master's in International Management (MIM) programme. The alliance was established in 1988 and Aalto University School of Business has been a proud member since 1998.

“The expansion in North America and collaboration with Cornell further strengthens the Alliance and offers new possibilities to CEMS MIM students”, states Rita Järventie-Thesleff, CEMS Academic Director in Aalto.

All CEMS MIM students spend one of their two academic terms abroad in one of the other business schools of the CEMS network. This student exchange opens opportunities for mutual learning and improves understanding of different markets and cultures. From August 2020 onwards, Cornell counts among the exchange schools available for CEMS MIM students.

At Aalto University there are two ways to CEMS MIM. Firstly, the Master’s Programme in Global Management which includes CEMS MIM and secondly, the one-year ‘crown-model’ CEMS MIM which is completed in parallel with other Master’s studies. The programme aims at educating agile, reflective and responsible decision-makers for a rapidly transforming global business environment.
