Centre for Quantum Engineering funding awarded for three projects

A total of EUR 290 000 has been granted for new projects that pave the way for large-scale initiatives in the field of quantum engineering at Aalto.

The following three proposals received funding:

Prof. Peter Liljeroth and Doc. Teemu Ojanen: Designer Topological Matter (DTM), EUR 100 000

Prof. Mika Sillanpää and Prof. Sebastiaan van Dijken: Microwave optomechanics with magnons (OPTOMAGNON), EUR 90 000

Prof. Zhipei Sun, Prof. Esko Kauppinen and Prof. Harri Lipsanen: On-chip Nonlinear Optical Quantum Sources Based on Nanomaterials (ONLINE), EUR 100 000

Six applications were submitted in September 2017.  The funding decision, based on the result of four external reviewers and the recommendations of the CQE Scientific Board, was made by the Director of the Centre for Quantum Engineering, Prof. Christian Flindt on 1 Nov, 2017.
