About the minor
Markets and economic interactions are everywhere. Economic analysis plays a crucial role when designing electricity markets, trying to mitigate climate change, planning cities, and creating online platforms. Beyond the analysis of markets, economists have played a key role in engineering new markets and institutions.
A minor in game theory, decisions, and markets provides students with an understanding of game theory and its applications. Students will not only learn to apply these tools to the analysis of existing markets but also begin to think about how to design new markets and institutions. This study module introduces students to the key components of economic and game theoretic reasoning, including thinking about marginals, carefully considering incentives, and equilibrium analysis. In addition, it develops students' ability to apply these skills to the analysis and design of specific economic markets and settings.
