About the minor

Description of the minor

A minor in economics provides a basic understanding of fundamental economic theories and institutions, as well as an ability to apply the knowledge in practical settings. The study module develops both analytical thinking and academic insights and it qualifies students to understand the connection between micro- and macroeconomic questions.

Content

Students in the BSc Programme in Business (Kauppatieteiden kandidaattiohjelma) complete the Economics minor with a minimum of 20 ECTS credits, as the course 31A00110 Taloustieteen perusteet is already included in their degree. Students must select two mandatory courses and two elective courses to reach at least 20 ECTS credits.  

All other Aalto students must complete three mandatory courses and select at least one elective course to reach 20-25 ECTS credits. Taloustieteen perusteet or Principles of Economics should be completed first.
