Four such companies are advancing innovations rooted in nature-inspired structures, circular economy principles and energy-efficient technologies that reduce environmental impact and the need for fossil raw materials.

  • Woamy offers a biodegradable, wood-based foam to replace oil-based plastic foams in packaging.
  • Elmery is developing energy-efficient, chemical-free methods for recycling and recovering critical metals, reducing the environmental impact of mining.
  • NPHarvest enables the recovery of nutrients from industrial and municipal sidestreams, recycling them into fertilisers.
  • Fepod is developing a quick, on-site method for measuring and analysing drug concentrations in blood.

Together, these innovations demonstrate how research-driven solutions are the engine of efficient, sustainable businesses — benefiting the environment, the economy and future generations.
