DesignTalks series consists of eight lectures during December 2021 – May 2022. Each event will have its own theme discussing the relevance of design in different contexts such as sustainable development, corporations, cities, business-to-business, research, accessibility, creative projects, and many more.
The series will complement and continue our introductory on-line course to design, . The series of talks is open for everyone, but Aalto students can get one 1 ECTS study credit upon participating to all lectures and returning a learning diary.

Speakers

Hanna Harris, Chief Design Officer, City of Helsinki.
Hanna started as Helsinki’s second Chief Design Officer in 2020. Her task is to lead Helsinki’s pioneering work in using design to build the city’s future. Prior to this, she was Director of Archinfo Finland (2016-2020), the national promotion and collaboration platform for architecture. She was Commissioner of the critically acclaimed 2018 Mind-Building exhibition at the Finnish pavilion at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Previously she was Programme Director at Helsinki Design Week and at The Finnish Institute in London. She has also worked as an urban researcher at the University of Helsinki and Aalto University and abroad at the universities of Cambridge, Westminster and Milano-Bicocca.

Núria Solsona, University Lecturer. Aalto University
Núria is a university lecturer at Aalto University (ARTS), Department of design. At Aalto, Núria teaches the practice of designing services in the contexts of policy-making and service development in collaboration with commercial and non-commercial project partners. With a design and innovation management background, previously, Núria worked as a service design consultant in the UK and Finland with clients worldwide.
