Saara Pyykkö is a colour researcher, designer and educator, considering the colour in architecture and urban design. She works as a doctoral researcher in the Aalto University-led EU Horizon project MELANGE. In December 2026, she will present her doctoral dissertation (DSc), "The Colour Design of a New Residential Area." She served as the president of the Finnish Colour Association (Suomen väriyhdistys) from 2018 to 2024. She is a member of the AIC Study Groups on Environmental Colour Design and Colour Education.
