Priska Falin focuses on the use and evaluation of (raw) materials within creative practices. Her research is grounded in experimental work with geopolymers, aiming to develop more environmentally sustainable material alternatives for creative anddesign-oriented practices. Building on this material development, the research investigates material specificities by bringing together both elemental and contextual aspects of the raw materials involved. Central to the research is the understanding that close, sustained engagement with materials fosters meaningful connections between humans and the environments that sustain them. Falin's research is funded by the Research Council of Finland (2026–2029).
