Leonardo Hidalgo Uribe is a textile designer and researcher. He holds a doctoral degree from Aalto University's Department of Design. His work explores bio-colours and dyeing practices by examining the intersection of local ecological knowledge, crafts, and design. His approach combines ethnographic and practice-led research methodologies, studying dyeing practices through the perspective of human-environment relationships. Leonardo has a background in weaving, dyeing, and art direction, and is interested in navigating the relationships among place, materials, and colour through fieldwork documentation and textile practices.
