Suggestion is made to leave an open interpretation. This sculpture is made as a suggestion. This is my suggestion of the relation that I have to my garments, practice and interests. Nevertheless, I invite you to create your own relation to the sculpture.

A relation is created by an interaction. Therefore, I made it as an interactional sculpture, appealing by its uncanny textures, special materials and particular shape.

It is made to bring back sensorial memories, create feelings and build a connection.

I started this project asking myself : what is the relation we can build with objects, and especially with garments. We do have a particular relation to our clothes, some that we really like for the fabrics, some for their sentimental values… 

So the first step of the project was to wonder: How could I transcribe those relations in a sculptural way? How the garments, seen as tools to dress, could be represented and understood without their functional aspect ? 

My relation to my garments is quite simple : I like them quite classic regarding the color but somehow particular thanks to their shapes, textures, colors …

Therefore I did a lot of different experiments with different materials : mosaic, silicon, foam, concrete, polystyrene, wool… (experiments pictures)

The multiplicity of materials was important to me. I purposely choose tiles, glass or concrete for the sculpture which aren’t use as fabrics. It is made to evoke garments thanks to their texture, materiality. I want to invite people interacting with the piece so each one of us can have his own reading of it. 

The aim of the project is to have a personal representation of my wardrobe, my interests and my practice through a sculpture.
