On this page, you will find information about the employment outcomes and career development of Aalto University graduates. The next national career monitoring survey will commence in October 2026. The survey will be sent to those who graduated as Master’s in 2021 and as Doctorates in 2023.

Career monitoring survey

Aalto University follows the career development and labour market situation of our Master's degree graduates five years after graduation. The career survey is conducted as a part of a national survey on academic graduates with the  network representing 13 Finnish universities. The results presented here are based on the career monitoring survey on Master's graduates of 2019.

The career tracking results are published centrally on the Education Administration's statistical service . Within Vipunen, users have the opportunity to view the from the prepared report and customize the scoreboards according to their own preferences.

Master’s graduates think that their degrees are valued by employers

Based on the latest career monitoring survey, Master's degree graduates have advanced in various careers over the last five years and are employed well. 

Of those who completed their Master's degree at Aalto University five years ago, 90 percent were satisfied with their degree in terms of career, and 92 percent would recommend their degree to others. Even 94 percent of Master's graduates from Aalto University agreed with the statement ‘The degree is valued by employers’.

As the most important skills needed in their current work, Aalto University Master's graduates named the problem-solving skills, ability to learn and adopt new things, analytical and systematic thinking skills, self-direction and information retrieval skills.
