Information about the accessibility of the Väre building.
Väre

Väre is the main location of the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture (Otaniementie 14).

Väre's main entrance is accessible, the external door opens automatically with a button. The door does not have contrast stickers. There is a textured line from the public transport stop to the main door. The main lobby is spacious and well-lit, with sufficient free space both inside and outside the door for movement, e.g. with a wheelchair. The lobby service point and lifts are wheelchair accessible.

The drop-off point is in front of the main entrance of the Aalto University School of Business (Ekonominaukio 1).

Access to the Väre building is through the main entrance of the Aalto University School of Business (Ekonominaukio 1), or from the parking area between Otakaari 1 and the Marsio building (in which case, you will cross the light rail tracks). If needed, ask for assistance at the lobby service of either theSchool of Business or Väre. 

The closest parking spots reserved for people with reduced mobility are located at the intersection of Tekniikantie and Biologinkuja (3 spots) and at the parking area behind the A Bloc shopping centre (3 spots). There is unobstructed access to the main lobby of Väre from the doors on the side of the parking area at A Bloc. The route from the parking spots to Väre is well lit, level and wide enough. 

In the main lobby of Väre, there are two accessible toilets. From the main lobby, there is unobstructed access to the lift, which has floor buttons positioned at a height suitable for wheelchair users, for example.

Induction loops

There is an induction loop in the main lobby of Väre. 

Public transport

In the immediate vicinity of the Väre building, there are bus stops, a metro station and a tram stop. The distance to all of these is approximately 150-300 metres.
