Juulia Mikkola has worked at Arkkitehtitoimisto Livady since its founding in 1994, focusing above all on the restoration of old timber buildings. Together with her colleague Netta Böök, Mikkola has published an extensive window restoration guide, based on her own expertise in window conservation. Together with Böök and M.Sc. (Eng.) Leino Kuuluvainen, Mikkola has also written a book on gravity-based ventilation. Mikkola has taken part in public debate as an advocate for sustainable construction, solid (massive) structures, and gravity-based ventilation.
