Measurement-based Auralization
We have developed and used measurement-based auralization since 2012. Research is based on Spatial Decomposition Method (SDM) and considers all aspects of room acoustics in concert halls, critical listening spaces, cinemas, and rock music venues.
Description
The virtual acoustics team has developed the Spatial Decomposition Method (SDM), which enables auralization based on measured spatial room impulse responses. The auralization quality is almost perfect enabling all kind of perceptual testing of room acoustics. We have published over 50 journal article on concert hall acoustics as well as perceptual comparison of other spaces. The research continues and recently we have concentrated on room acoustics in cinemas and rock venues. The related R2B project is called VenueSIM (/en/innovation-portfolio/venuesim)
