South Korea Lifelong Education Development Foundation and Aalto University Lifewide Learning exchange experiences on lifelong education
The Aalto University Lifewide Learning team were honoured to host the South Korea Lifelong Education Development Foundation on Aalto University campus in May 2024.
Opin.fi implementation is progressing, and the first demo videos of the service have been released
The schedule for the launch of Opin.fi has been clarified regarding the offerings to be included in the service. The progress of the launch can also be tracked through the 'logbook' on aalto.fi, where we will update the most important current news about the launch of Opin.fi. Additionally, getting to know the service is now easier, as videos showcasing the learner's and administration's views of the interface have been released.
Digivisio 2030 transforms the future of learning through opin.fi
Finnish universities have united their efforts in the Digivisio 2030 project to build the future of learning, with its first manifestation being the opin.fi website tailored to the needs of lifewide learners. The service is set to be released first as a beta version in fall 2024 and fully in spring 2025.

Course registration for open university courses starts soon!
Course registration for open university courses beginning in early summer starts on 4th of April or 12th of April. Registration period for courses taught in the late summer starts on 6th of June. Starting this summer, we are switching to new course registration system, Sisu.

Preparing for rolling blackouts at the Otaniemi campus
As a result of the global energy crisis, Finland is also preparing for regionally rotating power outages or rolling blackouts. Aalto University is not a national operator critical to the security of supply, so if there is a potential power shortage, there may also be rolling blackouts on the Otaniemi campus which can affect the teaching of open university courses.

Open University: free-of-charge studies for Ukraine citizens
The Open University is offering free-of-charge studies for Ukraine citizens. The studies may be taken for free during the school year 2024–2025. Course registration process must be completed by 31 July 2025.
Logging in to Sisu changes: important information for Open University students
When logging in to Sisu from outside the Aalto network, extra authentication besides the Aalto user ID is required.
