English-taught bachelor's programmes in science and technology or business and economics - admission rounds A and B
Certificate-based admission (admission round B) for the fields of Science and Technology or Business and Economics
You are eligible to apply on the basis of your certificate grades (in admission group II) in the admission round B if you have completed or will complete during spring 2027 one of the following qualifications:
- Finnish matriculation examination – read the instructions and further information
- , completed in an accredited IB school – read the instructions and further information
- , completed in an accredited EB school – read the instructions and further information
- diploma (DIA) or Reifeprüfung diploma (RP), completed in Finland – read the instructions and further information
If you have completed any other qualification than the ones listed above, you must apply in the admission round A. Please view the information for admission round A (SAT/ACT test based admission, admission group I) below.
Please note that any high school diploma awarded outside Finland does not qualify for an and any European high school diploma does not qualify for a . Both the IB and EB are specific programmes, and only students who have studied at a properly accredited school participating in the IB or EB programme can be awarded an IB or EB Diploma.
In the study options Finance and International Business, there is also admission on the basis of SAT or ACT test results for applicants with one of the certificate-point-yielding qualifications listed above (admission group III). These applicants apply in the admission round B. View the instructions via the links above.
In the study options in the field of science and technology, and in the Bachelor’s Programme in Technology, Business and Design, 70 per cent of the available study places in certificate-based admission (admission group II) are reserved for applicants applying for their first higher education degree (quota for first time applicants).
In the study options in the field of business and economics, 80 per cent of the available study places in certificate-based admission (admission group II) are reserved for applicants applying for their first higher education degree (quota for first time applicants).
The quota for first-time applicants only applies to certificate-based admission in the above-mentioned study options. It is not applied to SAT/ACT test-based admission (admission groups I and III).
You are not considered a first-time applicant, if you have:
- completed a higher education degree in Finland
- accepted a study place leading to a higher education degree in Finland on 1 August 2014 or later.
Other qualifications - SAT/ACT test based admission (admission round A) for the fields of Science and Technology or Business and Economics
In admission round A, the admission is based on SAT or ACT test results (admission group I). You are eligbile to apply in the admission round A, if you have completed or will complete during spring 2027 one of the following qualifications:
- Upper secondary education completed outside Finland, for example a high school diploma. The qualification must give eligibility to the corresponding level of higher education in the country in which it was awarded. A levels, for example, are included in this category - read the instructions and further information
- A Finnish vocational upper secondary qualification, further vocational qualification or specialist vocational qualification as set in the Vocational Education Act (531/2017) - read the instructions and further information
- Advanced International Certificate of Education diploma (AICE) - read the instructions and further information
Additionally eligible to apply are
- applicants who have been granted the right to study in a university in Finland - read the instructions and further information
- applicants who have a higher education degree completed in Finland - read the instructions and further information
- applicants who have at minimum a bachelor level degree completed outside Finland - read the instructions and further information
Note that these qualifications cannot be considered in the certificate-based admission.
If you have completed or will complete during spring 2027 a qualification that is considered in the certificate based admission (Finnish matriculation examination, I, or diploma (DIA) or Reifeprüfung diploma (RP), completed in Finland), you are not eligible to apply in admission round A.
